PM Mitsotakis: The core message of Epiphany is optimism, hope, and confidence
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, accompanied by his daughter Sophia, attended the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of St. Dionysius the Areopagite and then attended the Water Sanctification Ceremony at Hadrian’s Reservoir, Dexameni Square, in the area of Kolonaki.
Mitsotakis stressed that Greece is celebrating the Epiphany with splendor, drawing strength and hope from its message in a “world troubled by wars in our wider neighborhood”.
He stressed that the domestic political scene was overshadowed by the loss of former Prime Minister Costas Simitis, as well as the great health challenge of Archbishop Anastasios of Albania. “We are praying for him, as he has always prayed for us for many decades,” Mitsotakis said.
“But the message of the Lights is at its core a message of optimism, hope, and self-confidence. And indeed Greece today is a beacon of stability in an unstable world and a country that, despite the difficulties, is making progress in a general environment of precipitation,” Mitsotakis said.
