PM Mitsotakis in Finland for North-South Summit over the weekend

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will participate, at the invitation of his Finnish counterpart, in the informal North-South Summit taking place in Lapland, Finland, on weekend.

The Prime Ministers of Italy and Sweden, as well as the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, will also attend the Summit. The informal summit will discuss the challenges facing Europe.  In particular, the leaders will exchange views on defence issues, migration, the war in Ukraine and the new geopolitical landscape in the Middle East.

Asked in Brussels, Mitsotakis stressed that the informal summit in Lapland is an opportunity “to discuss how the countries of the north and the countries of the south perceive the new defence challenges of the European Union, each from their own perspective”.
