Greek Parliament ratifies 2025 budget with 159 votes in favour
The 2025 budget was ratified by the plenary of the Hellenic Parliament on Sunday with 159 votes in favour and 139 votes against, out of a total of 298 votes, in an electronic roll-call vote.
The defence spending budget and the expenses of the presidency of the Republic were passed with an even greater majority.
The independent MP for Messenia, Antonis Samaras, and the independent MP Marios Salmas were absent during the voting.
The 159 votes in favour included 155 votes of ruling New Democracy MPs and the four independent MPs Lefteris Avgenakis, Haris Katsivardas, Georgios Aspiotis and Michalis Gavgiotakis.
