The United States Ambassador to Cyprus, Julie Fisher, reiterated on Tuesday that the electrical interconnection between Greece and Cyprus is an important opportunity for Cyprus.

Following a meeting held between the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides and the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs of the United States, Celeste Wallander, the Ambassador was asked by reporters whether the issue of Great Sea Interconnector was discussed.

“I think we’ve made our views clear on the Great Sea Ιnterconnector and the importance of ending Cyprus’s isolation in terms of its electricity supply, and that we see this as an important opportunity for Cyprus”, the Ambassador said.
