A total of 76 migrants on three boats arrived at Gavdos on Tuesday and disembarked with the help of fishermen from the island.

The migrants are all in good health and they will be transferred to Sfakia for the prescribed procedures.

Then they will be transferred to Chania where they will stay until their departure for Athens, the mayor of Gavdos, Lilian Stefanaki, told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA).

They are immigrants from Syria, Egypt, Sudan, Bangladesh, including six minors and four women.

According to the mayor “…this is the second time that immigrants have arrived in Gavdos, but as we can see, Crete is a point they are approaching and this will happen as long as nothing is done in their countries.”
