Picture of Parnitha wildfire improved – scattered fronts in Boeotia

The picture of the fire in Parnitha has improved significantly, as the wind has abated, facilitating the extinguishing efforts of the firefighters, which are now focused on a small active front southwest of Fili.

In Parnitha, 260 firefighters with 13 teams on foot, 77 vehicles continue to operate, assisted by 8 aircraft and 5 helicopters.

According to the Fire Department, the front in Boeotia presents a better picure on Friday, while there are scattered outbreaks in Stiri, which, however, seem to be manageable.

A very high risk of fire (risk category 4) is predicted today, Friday, August 25, for two regions of the country, according to the Fire Risk Prediction Map issued by the general secretariat of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection (civilprotection.gov.gr).

More specifically, a very high risk of fire is predicted today for the region of Central Greece (Boeotia, Evia) and the region of Attica.
