#Ukraine: Catherine II seized the throne of the Russian Empire in the 18th century by murdering her own husband, Peter III. Her statute in #Odessa removed, to be sent to a museum. Not sure if the name "Catherine the Great" will survive Putin suiciding everything Russian. pic.twitter.com/IWkxFG8QkR

Catherine the Great
The history: Odessa, founded over 200 years ago, was Russia's historic gateway to the Black Sea. Odessa, a gateway to the Black Sea and beyond, was founded in 1794 by Catherine the Great on the fringes of the Russian Empire. https://t.co/GzWpvRCHks pic.twitter.com/SN7tJFDljL
