FM Dendias briefs PASOK-KINAL representative Andreas Loverdos

The decision to offer Finland and Sweden the status of NATO candidate countries has the hallmarks of a historic decision, stated PASOK-KINAL representative Andreas Loverdos after the conclusion of his meeting on Friday with Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, who briefed Loverdos on current foreign policy issues.

PASOK-KINAL’s representative underlined that this decision overshadows any other matter discussed, including in Greece, at this time adding: “It would be wrong for the talks to veer toward other issues and because I was briefed on the precise text of the Agreement signed in Madrid, especially on such matters and especially with regards to Turkey’s stance, someone has to be very careful and very well informed before saying anything as part of the public debate”.
Loverdos also stated that he had the opportunity to discuss issues concerning the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Western Balkans and NATO enlargement and obviously “matters concerning Turkey,” while adding that he had the opportunity to be briefed and “on some matters I did not know.”

KKE’s Marinos: Policy implemented by the gov’t and EuroAtlantic parties extremely dangerous

Communist Party of Greece (KKE) representative Giorgos Marinos on Friday expressed his party’s strong opposition to the policy that the present and previous governments have followed in the past, after his meeting with Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias in the context of the regular briefing of the parliamentary parties on current foreign policy issues.
“We discussed with the minister the developments in the region, Greek-Turkish relations, the situation that is emerging after the NATO Summit in Madrid and I presented the KKE’s positions,” Marinos said, pointing out that “Greece’s involvolvement in the imperialist plans that have turned Greece into a US-NATO base of operations puts the people at risk,” while adding that “the policy implemented by the government and the EuroAtlantic parties is extremely dangerous”.
