President Sakellaropoulou’s message for 47th anniversary from Turkish invasion of Cyprus

“The vindication of the struggle for the reunification and restoration of the Republic of Cyprus’ integrity and unity is our national duty” stated President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Tuesday in her message for the 47th anniversary from the Turkish invasion of Cyprus.
Sakellaropoulou underlined that “then, as today, 47 years after, Greece and Cyprus remain united” adding that “United we are facing the continuing Turkish occupation and Turkey’s attempts to undermine the efforts of UN secretary general Antonio Guterres for the restart of the negotiations for the resolution of the Cyprus issue”.
