Reopening of 10-year Greek bond issue attracts 29 billion euros in bids

Capital markets offered another vote of confidence in the Greek economy as the reopening of a 10-year bond issue by Greek authorities on Wednesday attracted up to 29 billion euros in bids and the interest rate of the issue was set 0.92 pct (Mid Swap + 82 basis points), down from an initial 1.0 pct.

Greece on Wednesday opened the book-building process for the reopening of a 10-year bond issue, maturing in June 2031, originally issued in January 27, 2021, seeking to raise 2.5 billion euros from capital markets.

BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JPMorgan and Nomura are the underwriters of the syndicated issue. Greece has raised 8.5 billion euros through bond issues so far this year (3.5 billion with 10-year bonds, 2.5 billion with five-year bonds and 2.5 billion with 30-year bonds.
