“As Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has already announced, the government is further strengthening the National Health System with 4,000 permanent nurses, primarily those who assisted during the pandemic,” Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias and Interior Minister Makis Voridis said in a joint statement on Tuesday.

It is worth noting that the recruitments will be carried out according to the procedures of the Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection (ASEP) and the competition will be announced this year, the two ministers pointed out.

“These nurses will be recruited through ASEP procedures and the competition will be announced within the current year. The nurses who have provided their services during the pandemic will be prioritised as this is the least acknowledgement of their contribution to the National Health System,” they explained

“Supporting health structures will continue to be a priority for the government and a legacy for the 21st century National Health System,” they underlined.
