The Health Ministry’s committee of coronavirus medical experts will convene mid-week to discuss the gradual and controlled reopening of the retail sector, of schools, of courts and of other social activities, Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Akis Skertsos told MEGA TV on Saturday.

Additionally, the government will announce the reopening of outdoor coffee shops and restaurants “sometime in April”, he highlighted.

There is a minor yet observable reduction trend in new coronavirus cases and also in hospital admissions, which means that the national health system will begin to decompress, he noted.

However, citizens’ mobility between prefectures is not yet an option, Skertsos stressed, as this will be discussed when the first level of mass immunity has been reached.
