An online program aimed at helping Greek and Cypriot entrepreneurs who already have a tech start-up or are keen to pursue their tech-related innovation, was announced on Thursday by the Foreign Ministry’s Secretariat General for Public Diplomacy & Greeks Abroad.

Launching on March 2, the program is hosted by the non-profit organization Startup Greece and Founderhood, and will be free of charge, reads the ministry announcement.

With a scheduled duration of 8 weeks, the program seeks to bring together accomplished startup founders of Greek descent, investors, and specialized executives with experience in tech innovation hubs.

Participants will have access to one-on-one meetings with more than forty accomplished experts across the world, who can advise on the minimum viable product, on communication, sales, and fundraising strategies. They will gain access to a network of 17 major tech business markets, including San Francisco, New York, and Israel, but also emerging markets, like India or Brazil. The experts are employed in companies like Google, Amazon, Salesforce, LinkedIn, and Facebook.

Weekly talks by experienced tech founders who have collectively raised 500 mln dollars will also be available to participants: Alex Piperides, Costas Pardalis, Niki Goulimi and investors like Niko Bonatsos are some of these speakers.

Teams that mark the greatest progress during the program will be matched with Greek Angel investors, with 10 mln dollars of investment capital available to them.

The Greek Startup Universe will connect strategic partners like GreekTech in New York, CyprusInno in Cyprus, and the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Consulate General of Greece in San Francisco. The Economia group and Epicheiro are the program’s media partners. The initiative is supported by Orange Grove, the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and the Greek House of Davos among others.
Greek and Cypriot tech startup founders in Greece and abroad interested in the program can register on www.greekstartupuniverse.org by March 1.

An online presentation of the program will be broadcast live on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 9:00 pm EST, on the Greek Startup Universe on Facebook and Twitter.

Greek Startup Universe can also be found LinkedIn and Instagram.
