Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias during a visit to National Public Health Organization (EODY) mobile health units on Sunday referred to the new mutations of the coronavirus that are now appearing in Greece, revealing that the cooperation between the national health system and the private sector will continue in order to face the pressure that exists in Attica.

There is a network for the observation and supervision of mutations in the country, Kikilias said and added: “We are always concerned about mutations. Scientists around the world are monitoring the phenomenon.”

“It creates new data that we have to deal with. I am convinced that we will succeed,” Kikilias said and pointed out that “we are examining the implementation of other collaborations with the private sector to address the pressure on Attica’s health system.”

Speaking about EODY mobile health teams, he said that they are everywhere and test citizens with a high level of professionalism so that the tests can be performed safely.

“We are quickly proceeding with vaccination and we are building an immune wall while doing tests to protect ourselves and those around us,” he underlined.

Kikilias was accompanied by Vice President of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas, and the President of EODY, Panagiotis Arkoumaneas.

On his part, the Vice President of the European Commission said that Greece may be a small country, but “it performs a miracle.”

“The fight against Covid-19 is being fought on all fronts with a Greek signature and European co-financing,” Schinas posted on Twitter.
