The island of Sifnos, one of the Greek Cycladic islands, was included in a list of “dream destinations” for 2020, in a feature run by the UK newspaper “Evening Standard” that also included Andalusia, Capri, the Mexican coast and Zambia (https://www.standard.co.uk/escapist/travel/dream-destinations).

“Tourism is the oxygen of our island’s economy. Adapting to the conditions of the time, we are activating the circle of the friends of the island and participating in iconic exhibitions and digital tourist workshops, so that together with the tourism committee we address our target markets with modern means,” said Sifnos mayor Maria Nadali regarding the feature, in statements to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency on Wednesday.

“With great food, beautiful churches and some of the best beaches in the Cyclades, you’ll wonder why it took you so long to visit Sifnos,” wrote Laura Hampson in an extensive article on the best the island has to offer, including hiking, ceramic workshops, beach-hopping, ancient and historic sites, its beautiful and iconic churches, as well as a guide on places to visit and the best examples of its “burgeoning foodie scene (https://www.standard.co.uk/escapist/travel/dream-destinations/what-to-do-sifnos-island-guide-greece-a4555006.html).
