A total of 50 unaccompanied children to be relocated to Portugal and Finland this week

A total of 50 unaccompanied children will be relocated in the following days to Portugal and Finland.

Specifically, 25 children will leave on Tuesday 7 July for Portugal and the same number of children on Wednesday for Finland.

According to a Migration and Asylum Ministry’s announcement, Alternate Minister for Migration and Asylum Giorgos Koumoutsakos spoke on Saturday with the Ambassador of Portugal to Greece Helena Paiva and with the Ambassador of Finland to Greece Juha Pyykkö on the finalisation of the programmed flights.

Portugal has stated its intention to receive 500 unaccompanied children from Greece while Finland is planning to receive a total of 100 unaccompanied children and adults over 3O for the reunification of families.
