FM Dendias: Revisionism and grey zones could become a boomerang for Turkey

Revisionism and grey zones could become a boomerang for Turkey, underlined Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias in an interview with the newspaper Ethnos on Saturday adding that the Greek diplomacy returns with remarkable energy in the Mediterranean.
As Dendias said, the extension of the fence will further strengthen the safety and protection in Evros while in the sea the Greek Armed Forces and the security services operate every day as a deterrence wall against any violation of the Greek sovereignty.
He said that the designation of the maritime zones with all our neighbours, including Turkey, is the country’s stable target “by implementing all those provided in the UN Treaty for the Law of the Sea”.
“Turkey’s efforts to ignore the geography and its neighbours and adopt fictional rules of the international law have been condemned by the international community” he said adding that “Turkey should study carefully the Lausanne Treaty and address it with respect and without revisionism as Greece does”.
Dendias underlined the importance of IRINI mission on the weapons embargo in Libya and reminded that Greece not only participate but will assume its operational administration in the second half of its operation.
He pointed out the return of the Greek diplomacy in the Mediterranean and the appointment of special envoys to Libya and Syria as well as the reoperation of the Embassies in Damascus and Tripoli when the conditions allow it.
