16 new coronavirus cases registered in Greece on Tuesday: Deaths total stands at 190

Greece registered 16 new confirmed coronavirus cases and no fatalities since Saturday, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) reported on Tuesday.

The total number of cases is 3,302, of whom 55 pct are men. Of the total, 728 are people who were infected abroad and 1,844 were infected by already known cases.

Eight Greeks are intubated in hospitals, of whom seven are men, and the average age of all ICU patients is 61 years. A 75 pct suffers from and/or are aged 70 or over. Another 118 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the outbreak.

The deaths total stands at 190 and the median age of all the deceased was 76 years, while a 95.8 pct suffered from an underlying health condition and/or were aged 70 or over.

Some 291,187 diagnostic tests for Covid-19 have been carried out in Greece since January 1, of which 5,353 (1.8 pct) were positive. The total numbers include repeat tests for individuals.
