Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis paid a visit to the education ministry on Friday. “I am very happy to start my visits from the education ministry,” the prime minister stressed.
“We will move rapidly to implement our plan for quality public education,” he said, adding that education is an important political priority.
The government’s strategic choices, targets and main priorities in the ministry are the following:

Freeing school from the ministry’s suffocating control – Greater confidence in teachers and headmasters.
Focus on cultivating skills and the acquisition of certified computer and foreign language knowledge.
Effective school vocational orientation from high school.
Strengthening the institution of pilot schools.
Redesigning access to higher education.
Strengthening special education.
Establishment of professional lyceums.
Abolition of “lawlessness asylum” and real protection of free movement of ideas.
