Health ministry bill for upgrading of the sector submitted to parliament




The modernisation of the operating framework of private clinics and the establishment of the National Public Health Organisation that will replace the Hellenic Center for Disease Control and Prevention (HCDCP) are included in a draft health ministry bill tabled in Parliament on Monday.

The bill also includes the establishment of the National Institute of Neoplasms as well as the National Patient Registers, new departments for Medical Tourism and Data Protection in the health ministry, the regulation on nicotine-free electronic cigarettes, the updating of the prescription of narcotic substances and the creation of Supervised Use Areas (SPAs) for high risk users.
