Potami MEP Giorgos Grammatikakis on Wednesday said that the support of the Prespes Agreement was a political decision, while speaking to the public broadcaster ERT, stating that his party had made its position clear from the first moment and there was no reason to change its stance now.
“On the contrary, there are reasons that make the ratification of the Agreement imperative,” said Grammatikakis.
As he stated to ERT , he and his co-fellow deputy Miltos Kyrkos “say that with full knowledge of the international environment, the Prespes Agreement must be voted for even with enthusiasm, because it solves a major problem of the past and opens new perspectives for both countries’ future”.
“Patriotism has a very general and deep meaning and I believe that at this moment the real patriotism is to end an outstanding problem with the neighbouring country”.
Finally, Grammatikakis said that he spoke on the phone with Potami leader Stavros Theodorakis and told him that there is no reason for Potami to change its position on the Prespes Agreement.
