“We have taken Greece out of the memoranda; we have restored stability”, says PM Alexis Tsipras

“We have taken Greece out of the memoranda, we have achieved a sustainable solution on debt, we have restored stability,” Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Thursday in Parliament.

Tsipras added that Greece has recorded growth rates over the last years and underlined that the government has proceeded to the restoration of labour legality and normality.

“Unemployment is at 18.9 percent,” he said and added that the governmet has vision and plan and Greece will change.
Today’s Parliament session, he said, is symbolic as it is the first of a series of positive legislative interventions resulting from the economy’s recovery and the country’s official exit from the bailout memoranda on August 21.

Tsipras also attacked the main opposition New Democracy for cutting back salaries and never restoring them, while finger-pointing at the government. “Your embarrassment is understandable because it does not relate to the specific intervention, it relates to the your strategic shortfall,” he said.
