Alternate Foreign Minister George Katrougalos visits Brussels for the EU Council of Foreign Affairs




Alternate Foreign Minister George Katrougalos will be in Brussels on Monday to participate in the Council of Foreign Affairs of the European Union.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Katrougalos will meet with the Foreign Minister of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides and the Foreign Minister of France Jean-Yves Le Drian.

The debate in the council will focus on the situation in Central Asia ahead of the upcoming EU-Central Ministerial Meeting, on the course of reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina after the recent elections and on the developments in Ukraine. The humanitarian crisis in Yemen will be discussed at the working dinner.

A joint meeting of EU Foreign and Defence Ministers will follow during which will be examined EU’s initiatives in the area of safety and defence among them the Civilian CSDP Compact and the aspects of the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO).
