FM Kotzias to Al-Ahram: Greece, Cyprus, Egypt serve as buffers at unstable times

Greece, Cyprus and Egypt serve as buffers before the rising instability in the East Mediterranean, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias said in an interview to newspaper Al-Ahram on Tuesday.

Kotzias gave the interview a day ahead of the three countries’ summit meeting on Crete on Wednesday.
The FM focused on the importance of energy resources in the East Mediterranean sea, and noted that Greece and Egypt are upgrading their infrastructure as energy and transport hubs.
He added that Greece frequently reminds its EU partners of Egypt’s massive efforts for stability, which is “ inseparably linked with the stability of Europe itself.”
