Bank shares drop a result of speculative attack with political implications, says minister Nikos Pappas

“There was a speculative attack with political implications because some circles chose to remain silent,” Digital Policy Minister Nikos Pappas said on Friday in an interview with Real FM radio regarding the drop of the bank shares in the Athens Stock Exchange.

Pappas noted that Greece’s central banker should have made an invervention adding that “while there are positive macroeconomic figures, the economy is growing with ‘before-the-crisis) rates, the unemployment has fallen by 7-8 points, one could wonder whether the policy of some circles is incompatible with the positive news.”
