“Given that we have now emerged from the period of the memoranda, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will present a comprehensive strategic plan for post-programme Greece in his speech at the opening of the 83rd Thessaloniki International Fair on Saturday,” government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos said on Tuesday in an interview with the radio station “24/7”.

“In 2019 there will be the fiscal space needed for social measures that will be announced by the prime minister next Saturday,” he noted and added: “It will be a balanced package that to a large extent concerns the working classes, in other words employees and freelance workers, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises.”

Regarding the possibility of pension cuts, he said that this they will not be necessary.
