“Greece’s exit from the memoranda is a historical milestone” says minister Yiannis Dragasakis

The exit from the memoranda is not a typical procedure, but a historical milestone, government Vice President and Economy and Development Minister Yiannis Dragasakis said on Sunday in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA).

“A painful period has come to an end and we are entering a new phase,” he added.

Dragasakis explained that the exit from the memoranda will gradually be reflected on the citizens’ life, their income, their employment and their expectations for the future.

Moreover, he said that the main target of this new period does not align with measures such as pension cuts and promised to do his best to avoid it.

The Minister of Economy said that from now “we will speak about targeted tax reductions, support of the lower income citizens and the social state.” As he stressed, Greece will have such a possibility in 2019 while in 2020, 2021 and 2022 these possibilities will be even greater.
