More than 500 asylum seekers to leave crowded Moria camp in Lesvos for Piraeus by Friday

Another 107 asylum seekers left the Moria reception and identification centre on the island of Lesvos late on Thursday.

Their transfer was delayed due to strong winds blowing in the area.

Another 400 refugees are expected to leave Moria for the port of Piraeus. The number of migrants that have left so far exceeds 1,000. Their transfer is part of the Migration Policy Minister’s programme to relieve overcrowding in the island’s hotspots.
