Greece has a credible, stable economy and plays a strategic role in the region, says Nikos Pappas

Greece’s current global image is completely different from that of three years ago, Digital Policy, Communications and Media Minister Nikos Pappas said in New York on Wednesday night, with the world seeing a country stabilized economically and playing a critical and strategic role in the region.

Speaking to the Greek national broadcaster from New York, where he is part of a delegation led by the prime minister, Pappas said that previously international investors saw Greece as lacking credibility. “ Now they know they are dealing with a credible country which placed the economy back on its feet and has very important plans for itself and the wider region,” Pappas said after the delegation met with American investors.

“Today’s (Wednesday’s) meetings were with investment banks, which are looking at Greece’s macroeconomic and fiscal situation,” the minister said. “In terms of these two factors, Greece is set and has stabilized, and messages are positive.”
