International passenger arrivals in Greek airports up strongly in January-July




Greece is enjoying the most successful tourism year of all times, according to official figures released by the Civil Aviation Authority, Fraport and the Athens International Airport for the January-July period.
Passenger arrivals in the 14 regional airports operated by Fraport recorded a 13.7 pct increase in the seven-month period, compared with the same period in 2017, totaling 12.1 million, from 10.6 million last year.
In the Athens International Airport, passenger arrivals exceeded 9.0 million in the January-March 2018 period, an increase of 15 pct, while in the Heraklion airport in Crete, passenger arrivals exceeded 1.85 million.
In total, international passenger traffic in Greek airports in the January-July period, exceeded last year’s levels by more than 3.0 million.
