Archbishop Demetrios of America Addresses Ahepa’s 96th Convention in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios Geron of America attended July 26, 2018, the AHEPA Convention Grand Banquet for the 19th consecutive year.

The Grand Banquet concluded the 96th AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association) Annual Convention and honored two prominent members of the Church and the community, Dr. Spiros Spireas and Demosthenes J. Vassiliou with the 2018 AHEPA Hellenism Award.

His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, congratulated the honorees and praised the work and achievements of AHEPA for almost 100 years, and said it is a leading organization in our Omogeneia always by the side and always supportive of the Church, the Archdiocese and Hellenism.

Departing AHEPA Supreme President Carl Hollister presented a donation of 35 thousand dollars to Evelyn Tsiadis, President of St Basil Academy for the needs of the academy.

The 96th Convention elected George E. Loucas, Esq., of Novelty, Ohio, as the new AHEPA Supreme President.
