“We welcome the possibility of non-reduction of pensions” says ND’s Yannis Vroutsis

“The main opposition welcomes the possibility of non-reduction of pensions,” New Democracy (ND) Shadow Labour Minister Yiannis Vroutsis said on Sunday in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agecy (ANA).
He underlined that a possible decision not to cut pensions is a separate structural change as the national agreement for the social security system provides that the pension expenditure must not exceed 16 percent of GDP until 2060.
Referring to the policy that New Democracy will follow if it is elected, he said that it will turn the social security system into a fair, rewarding, efficient and totally transparent system while promising that social security contributions will be significantly cut.
