“The memorandum goes on, benefiting the capital over people” says Communist leader Koutsoumbas

Conditions in the shipyards “will worsen as long as the shipping industry sector continues to be in the centre of the extreme controversy and competition between the governments and major monopoly interests,” said Communist Party (KKE) Secretary General Dimitris Koutsoumbas, who visited Elefsina shipyards on Wednesday.

Commenting on the government’s celebration of the successful final review of the adjustment program, Koutsoumbas said, “The shows with the ties and the destabilisation scenarios distributed by the government’s cadres can’t hide the fact that the SYRIZA-ANEL coalition government has saddled the Greek people with a new, post-memorandum, memorandum that – like all memoranda – is nothing more than a tool to crush the people and benefit the capital.”
