An evening dedicated to the music of the ancient Greek lyre at the Athens Observatory on Thursday

An evening dedicated to the music of the ancient Greek lyre, combined with the sounds of traditional and modern instruments, will take place at the old observatory in central Athens on Thursday evening, on the Nymphs Hill near the Acropolis.

The programme will track the “musical journey” from the music of the ancient Greeks, through traditional music and contemporary music, performed by Aliki Markantonatou (ancient lyre, vocals), Vasiliki Papageorgiou (mandolin, percussion, vocals) and Chrysostomos Boukalis (double bass).
After the concert, visitors will have an opportunity to observe the summer night sky through the Doridis telescope, which will be open for the public until 23:00.
