Govt submits bill on prior actions to parliament, vote set for Thursday

The government submitted on Friday a multi bill on prior actions needed to secure Greece’s next tranche of rescue aid and wind up the country’s third bailout program.

The bill needs to be voted in by lawmkers by June 14 given Greece’s push for a total agreement with creditors at the June 21 eurogroup on the current bailout review, future supervision and debt.
The bill contains a large number of measures that must be immediately implemented, in line with commitments to European institutions.

The race to meet the tight deadlines starts on Monday when the bill heads to four parliamentary commitees to be discussed and passed before a final vote on Thursday that is scheduled to be complete by 1500.
