Eurogroup decision “a good message for Greece and Europe”, states the German government




Alternate government spokesperson of the German government Ulrike Demmer on Friday said the Eurogroup’s decision on Greece was “a good message” for Greece and for Europe, while referring to the “substantial efforts” made by Greece in the context of the programmes.

“With the next steps agreed on Thursday, the last of the support programmes, necessary for the crisis, was concluded and this is a good message for Greece and for the eurozone. These programmes are important to support the countries return to sustainable a fiscal condition and for growth and competitiveness in order to protect the stability of the eurozone as a whole. Greece made significant efforts and got its spending under control, while carrying out reforms to return to growth. All the members of the eurozone, in cooperation with the European institutions and the IMF, showed great solidarity with Greece in this course'” she stated
