Dragasakis announces Greek Development Bank plan for 2019 to Europarliament members

The Greek Development Bank will be legislated within 2018 and be fully operational by 2019, Deputy Premier and Economy and Development Minister Yiannis Dragasakis told visiting Europarliament official Roberto Gaultieri in Athens on Tuesday.

Gaultieri, chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, is leading a committee delegation on a two-day mission to Greece.

Dragasakis thanked Gaultieri personally for supporting Greece and said it was “now time to talk of the future.”

It’s encouraging that Gaultieri is a rapporteur for the new phase of the Juncker plan from 2020 on (“InvestEU”), Dragasakis said, because it opens new prospects of collaboration with the EU.
Gaultieri said the Eurogroup agreement on the debt makes it viable, and said the Greek economy will develop with new job openings while keeping a focus on social cohesion.
