“The SYRIZA government is clearly falling apart, has to go”, says New Democracy spokeswoman

It is clear that the present government is falling apart and the connective tissue that is holding it together is dissolving, main opposition New Democracy press spokeswoman Maria Spyraki told the private broadcaster SKAI on Saturday. It was clear that the government had to go, she added, urging citizens to hear ND’s proposals.

“The situation that is arising with pensions, apart from being clearly unfair, is also often non-viable. The people that are called upon to live on 400 euros [a month] cannot make ends meet and, apart from this, we know that the pensions are not only for the people that receive them, they concern the Greek family as whole,”

Grandfathers and grandmothers used their pensions to support their grandchildren, their families, helping them survive at a time of great difficulties,” she added.

“There is only one way to deal with this situation: to create jobs, to help the economy grow,” Spyraki pointed out, while noting that the agreements that the government has signed and which are binding for the country for the next five years “make things very difficult.”
