National energy plan will be ready by start of autumn, says Minister Giorgos Stathakis




Energy Minister Giorgos Stathakis met with Public Power Corporation (PPC) workers on Wednesday where they discussed the latest developments regarding the company and the electrical energy market.

According to the ministry, talks focused on lignite production, the future of PPC’s lignite power plants and the boosting of power production from renewable energy sources.

The minister informed the workers about government initiatives to secure supply levels and the gradual adjustment of the company’s production model to international environmental standards.

They also discussed Greece’s long term energy planning and the changing mix until 2035. Stathakis agreed that the government must pick up the pace of putting together Greece’s national energy plan, adding that it will be ready by the start of autumn.
