Eurogroup sees “determination” for Greece deal June 21

Eurozone finance ministers agreed at a meeting in Brussels on Thursday to push ahead with debt relief talks on Greece in coming days and encouraged the country to stick to its reforms commitments.
European Union economy commissioner Pierre Moscovici said the International Monetary Fund “remains fully committed to working with the institutions in coming days. We will find a way to decide on this (debt talks) positively.”
“Positive #Eurogroup discussion on #Greece. Encouraged by determination around the table to reach an agreement on 21 June on ALL strands that must come together to ensure a successful conclusion to the programme this August,” the commissioner said in a tweet after the meeting.
The finance ministers welcomed news of Saturday’s technical staff agreement in Athens between Greece and the institutions. European Stability Mechanism (ESM) head Klaus Regling said that debt talks on Greece will intensify, adding that there is “a lot of work ahead of us”
Mario Centeno, president of the Eurogroup, told journalists, “Our common goal is to ensure the long term sustainability of the Greek debt. To that end, we have mandated the institutions to produce a final Debt Sustainability Analysis – on which we can fine-tune possible debt measures. All this, within the boundaries defined in June last year and approved by the Eurogroup.”
