Buses, trains to strike on Wednesday; no metro to airport

Most Athens public transport workers, with the exception of the metro, will participate in the general strike and “Nationwide Action Day” called by the General Confederation of Employees of Greece (GSEE) on Wednesday.

Buses and trolleys will cut morning and evening shifts, operating after 9:00 and until 21:00 on Wednesday. On the following day, Thursday May 31, no buses or trolleys will be running due to a 24-hour strike declared by their respective trade union federations.

Tram workers will also hold a work stoppage on Wednesday, with trams running between 9:00 and 21:00.
There will be no trains or Proastiakos urban railway trains running on Wednesday due to a 24-hour strike declared by the Hellenic Federation of Railway workers. As a result, there will be no metro trains to the Athens airport, though the rest of the metro system will be running normally.
