Mitsotakis: 2018 can be the starting point for Greece to revive

“For most Greeks, 2017 was a difficult year. A year full of missed opportunities for the country. A lot could have been done, but unfortunately little was eventually done,” main opposition New Democracy (ND) Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in his New Year message.

“All these days, I have been thinking of those are going through a difficult period. I am aware of their difficulties. I am aware that their everyday life is a real struggle for survival. My thought is also on those who were forced to leave the country in order to find a job,” he noted.

Mitsotakis stressed that “a new year always brings hope. It is an opportunity to set new targets. I deeply believe that. The Greeks deserve better and 2018 can be the starting point for the country to go forward. Greece has to turn a page. Greece must get again on a sustainable growth track. Greek citizens must not be suffocated by taxes and must feel safe. Their lives must improve. If we are united and believe in our prospects, we can achieve it. We can make Greece as we want it.”
