The surveillance of Greek embassy in Berlin raised with Germans

The Greek government has already raised the issue of the alleged monitoring of its embassy in Berlin by German intelligence services with the country’s government, Greek foreign ministry spokesman Konstantinos Koutras said on Monday.

Koutras was responding to journalists’ questions regarding a “Der Spiegel” article which claimed the Greek Embassy was among a list of diplomatic missions that were systematically monitored by the German intelligence services.

“Between partners, there are certain rules of cooperation and deontology, to which the German government has referred repeatedly in the recent past, complaining of the violation of these rules by other countries. We await the initiatives of the German government, with which the issue has already been raised,” he said.
