According to the Sunlight Foundation, the government of Turkey “has consistently lavished millions each year on well-connected Washington lobbying firms.” This year, we saw the Turkish lobby fight us on issues such as religious freedom, the continued occupation of Cyprus, and more.
As part of our work, we brief members of Congress on Hellenic issues, and we’ve seen first-hand how influential the Turkish lobby is, how much misinformation they prοduce, and how important it is that we raise our voices to counteract that misinformation.
The Turkish lobby has millions to spend sending lawmakers across the country on secret trips to Turkey, skirting disclosure laws and essentially buying its support on Capitol Hill and in state legislatures.
That’s why support from people like you is so important. Every dollar you provide is spent directly to finance our advocacy work, from funding congressional briefings to supporting our publications that set out the truth about Turkey’s bad behavior in the region and the importance of Greece and Cyprus to regional security and stability.
