2013 Holiday Letter from John Kiriakou

Dear Friends, Happy holidays!  Thank you so much for your ongoing support.  I’m overwhelmed by the kindness you’ve shown me.  More than 2,000 letters from 45 states and 16 foreign countries is more than I could have ever hoped for.  My cup runneth over.

I would like to thank, in particular, Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA); Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX); Governor Gary Johnson (R-NM); Ralph Nader; Daniel Ellsberg; Bishop Emeritus John McCarthy of the Catholic Diocese of Austin, Texas; Quaker House; Bruce Riedel; and Dr. Stephen Bowers, all of whom have lobbied the Bureau of Prisons to grant me nine months of halfway house time.  Unfortunately, I’ve already been denied the nine months, but I still hold out hope of being released in 2014.

Thanks again for thinking of me and for keeping me in your prayers.  It’s because of you that I’ll get through this.
