Tzanakopoulos: ND leader’s stance on FYROM issue a ‘great exception’

The political conclusion emerging from Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ meetings with the political party leaders is that a convergence between most of the parties is forming, with the exception of New Democracy and the Centrists Union, government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos said on Monday.

Speaking to radio Real FM, Tzanakopoulos called the stance adopted by main opposition New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis a ‘great exception’ and ‘unfortunate development’.

Asked whether the government’s majority was firm, Tzanakopoulos said that is ‘given and stable’ and expressed his certainty that, if a mutually acceptable agreement on the FYROM issue comes to parliament, it will be passed with large parliamentary majority.
