‘Broad agreement’ on Greece’s prior actions reached at EWG, final approval on Saturday

BRUSSELS (ANA-MPA/ C. Vasilaki) The Eurogroup Working Group (EWG) reached “broad agreement” during its meeting on Friday concerning the implementation of prior actions in Greece, Eurozone sources said on Friday.

The institutions representing Greece’s creditors completed a positive compliance report earlier on Friday and this was presented to the eurozone finance ministry representatives during the meeting, the sources said.

They also added that some details still remain to be clarified and that a final agreement was expected on Saturday.

The formal approval will allow the disbursement of a sub-tranche of 2.0 billion euros to Greece, as well as the transfer of funds for the recapitalisation of Greece’s banks to the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF) from the European Stability Mechanism.
